So Halloween is here, it’s getting cold outside, and the kids are off school. With all the trick or treating, costume making and decorating it can be almost impossible to find time to just sit down and relax with the family.

There are plenty of movies on offer to satisfy your family’s fright night expectations, so here is a low down of whats on the box this Bank Holiday weekend, and also what’s available on Netflix.

The Haunted Mansion- Saturday the 28th, on ITV2 18.05pm

This family favourite from 2003 never disappoints. Starring Eddie Murphy and based on a ride at Walt Disney World- what more can you want? It’s a fantasy comedy so nothing too scary for the little ones.

Corpse Bride- Sunday the 29th, on ITV2 at 14.15pm

This flick is an animated Halloween sensation. When a shy boy practices saying his wedding vows to a dead girl she comes to life and assumes he is really marrying her! Some actors that lend their voice to the characters are Hollywood greats like Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter.

Hocus Pocus- Sunday the 29th, on Channel 4 at 15.20pm

Hocus Pocus is the quintessential Halloween movie! It must be watched every year, no matter what your age! Starring Bette Midler and Sarah Jessica Parker, these witches will have you laughing and dancing at their terrible spells.

Netflix have plenty of Halloween choices too!

If you want to enjoy a Halloween movie on your own schedule, there are plenty of Netflix options…

Hotel Transylvania one and two

Everyone loves a movie marathon! These are funny for children and adults alike. When Dracula discovers that a human boy has not only made it into his resort, but has actually fallen for his teenage daughter things get interesting! The saga continues in the sequel.

A Series of Unfortunate Events

Based on Lemony Snicket’s fantastic novels , this one isn’t scary per say. It’s mystical and funny (it stars Jim Carey, how could it not be?) though, and your family will love it.

All Hallows Eve

A spell gone wrong! Instead of summoning the spirit of her mother, a good witch awakens an evil witch whose mission is to destroy her home town.

Dreamworks Spooky Stories

This is a series, where our favourite green ogre Shrek and friends tell creepy tales about ghouls, pumpkins and ghosts.

Whatever you decide to watch, enjoy the terrifying time with your youngsters!
