Inchydoney Lodge & Spa, Cork

Having recently visited this stunning hotel on Inchydoney Beach, we can attest that it is one of the most romantic spots in the country and would make for a very special Valentine’s Day destination.

The hotel has a special Romance By The Sea package (€55 per person) for the big day itself with a special cocktail, dinner in the gorgeous Gulfstream Restaurant and music after in the hotel bar. Add €89pps for an overnight stay and you can finish your break with a romantic stroll by the waves – bliss!

Brooks Hotel, Dublin

If you’re looking for something a little different to do this year, why not try the Romantic Valentine’s Escape package (€280 for two people) from Brooks Hotel in Dublin City? It includes a three-course meal for two, a screening in the hotel’s private cinema (Brooklyn on Feb 11th or Gone Girl on Feb 14th), an overnight stay in a deluxe room and breakfast in bed the following morning.

The Harbour Hotel, Galway

You’re spoilt for choice when it comes to fab hotels in Galway but we’ve chosen The Harbour Hotel because it is catering for both the loved-up and those who are on their Toblerone this V Day.

Couples can enjoy the Sweet Treat package (from €159 for two people), which includes an overnight stay, handmade chocs, a romantic Valentine’s Day dinner for two, a glass of bubbly and breakfast the following morning. Singles can take on The Love Tour, which will see a group of 40 people set off on an adventure of food and craic around Galway.

Hotel Westport, Mayo

Westport is such a beautiful town and you can’t beat the craic in the local pubs. Hotel Westport has a Valentine’s Special which includes a complimentary upgrade, access to leisure centre, breakfast in bed, a four-course candlelit dinner and bubbles & strawberries from €198 for two people. You can even add on a tandem bike ride for an extra €20!

The Aisling Hotel, Dublin

The Aisling Hotel is located very close to Heuston Station, which makes it very handy if you’re popping to Dublin for a short break. However, the reason we’ve picked it is that it’s a stone’s throw from Dublin Zoo. The zoo may not seem like the most obvious location for a V Day date but there is a special event happening on the weekend of Feb 11 and 12.

The Date Morning includes a romantic breakfast picnic from Haughton House before experiencing the early morning sights and sounds of the zoo. The animal care team will host themed keeper talks on breeding, courtship and the romantic rituals of some of the animals. Perfect for anyone who love their furry friends! Tickets are priced at €75 per person, while a night’s stay at The Aisling starts from €109.

The Fitzwilliam Hotel, Belfast

This hotel is taking the stress out of Valentine’s Day by doing all the work for you. Their Valentine’s Overnight Package is priced at €284 for the night and includes a red rose, chocolates and a bottle of bubbles in your room, as well as a four-course evening meal and breakfast in bed the following morning. The location is really central so it’s the perfect base to explore the bustling city.

The Glenlo Abbey Hotel, Galway

Another one in the West and another one that is holding a rosemantic Valentine’s Day movie screening! The Love Glenlo Abbey Retreat (from €319) includes a bottle of champagne on arrival, a one-night stay in a king room with Orla Kiely toiletries, candlelit dinner in the AMAZING Pullman’s Restaurant on board the Orient Express (check it out) and a screening of Casablanca while wrapped up in cashmere blankets. It doesn’t get much more perfect that that.

The Cliff House, Waterford

This Waterford hotel has become a destination for foodies due to the amazing offering in The House restaurant. The spa is also beautiful and it boasts some killer views. The A Taste Of Cliff House package isn’t cheap at €395 but it includes a tasting menu from a Michelin-star chef, an overnight stay with access to the leisure facilities and breakfast the following morning. A once-in-a-lifetime experience.
