Last night was the grand final of RTÉ’s Dancing with the Stars. Our very own Littlewoods Ireland ambassador Anna Geary made it all the way to the final after months of hard work and dedication. We are used to seeing her taking part in finals on Camogie fields, but last night Anna found herself on the dance floor battling to win the title of Dancing With The Stars champion.
We were simply blown away by the speculator show that she put on last night, especially her stunning show dance! She should be so proud of herself, because we here at Littlewoods Ireland definitely are!
It was almost too close to call between the finalists Anna, Jake Carter and Deirde O’Kane, as each of them danced their hearts out. But in the end, it was singer Jake Carter who ended up lifting the glitter ball trophy with his partner Karen Byrne.
None the less, we were lost for words with how beautifully Anna danced over the weeks with her partner Kai Widdrington, going from sliotar to glitter, and having absolutely no dance experience. Here are some of our favourite dances of Anna’s during Dancing with The Stars.
Right back at the very start of the competition, the All Ireland winning captain from Cork, tangoed her way around the floor in her native rebel red, to Bowie’s Rebel Rebel. From the start, it was clear that Anna was a serious contender in the competition, scoring 21. Extra marks from us for the glitter hurl and sliotar!
During movie week, Anna danced this wonderful routine to Disney’s ‘Let it Go’ from the movie Frozen. She was the double of Princess Elsa, as she showed off her inner ice queen with this contemporary ballroom number. It showed off Anna’s strength and flexibility and scored her a wonderful 27!
Anna lit up the dance up with this energetic jive to ‘The Time Wrap’ from the musical The Rocky Horror Picture Show! A brilliant performance, with serious amounts of power and control, a ‘horror show’ it was not, it was pure magic on the dance floor! This number got her an almost perfect score of 29!
Probably one of our favourite dances of Anna’s! This quirky Charleston was upbeat and energetic, and embodied everything that the Charleston dance is about. She looked fantastic as the 1920’s flapper girl, it was a pure razzle dazzle. This dance got Anna a perfect score – 10’s all round and it was the first perfect score of the series!
You’re a winner in our eyes Anna!
Now that you are here, why not check out who last year’s Dancing with the Stars champion Aidan O’Mahony thought was going to win!
