It’s a Bank Holiday Monday, so you deserve to treat yourself a little, and this French toast recipe is perfect for that.
From adults to kiddies, everyone loves this recipe, so it’s sure to go down an absolute treat with everyone!
To get started, all you need are some ingredients…
3 eggs, beaten
1 cup milk
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 cup butter, softened
2/3 cup brown sugar
1 (16 ounce) loaf French bread, cut into 1-inch slices
2 tsp ground cinnamon, or to taste
Preheat the oven to 175 degrees C.
Whisk the eggs, milk and salt together in a bowl and pour into a shallow dish. Soak the bread slices in the egg mixture until saturated.
Spread some softened butter over the bottom of a pan. Sprinkle brown sugar over the butter and add some cinnamon.
Arrange the bread slices on the pan in a single layer and sprinkle with cinnamon to taste.
Bake in preheated oven until beginning to firm, for about 25 to 30 minutes.
Top tip: Covering the pan with tinfoil will keep the bread moist and ensure an even bake.
