Croke Park on match day is a day like no other in the Irish sporting calendar. When it is packed to capacity with 82,300 people, the noise is spine tingling and the atmosphere is electric.
If you are travelling to Croke Park at the weekend, here is everything you need to know to make your day go as smoothly and as enjoyable as possible! Make sure you have your water, sunglasses and raincoats at the ready!
If you have never been to Croke Park before, you can guarantee that you won’t be disappointed. The stadium is located on the north side of Dublin City, in Drumcondra, which makes it very accessible to get it.
On their own website, Croke Park themselves advise traveling via public transport or by foot if possible. City traffic can be hectic at the best of times, and on match day it is even worse!

There are plenty of public transport options available. Bus, Rail, DART and LUAS will all bring you within 15 minutes walking distance of Croke Park on Match Day.
The closest station to Croke Park is Drumcondra station, which is situated at the intersection of the Drumcondra Road (N1) and Clonliffe Road. Once you arrive at the station it is only a 5-minute walk to Croke Park.
Dublin Bus has a very accessible and easy to use service that runs all over the city. Routes that serve Croke Park are:
1, 7, 11, 13, 14, 16, 27a, 27b, 29a, 31/a, 31b, 32, 33, 40, 40b, 40d, 41, 41b, 41c, 42, 43, 44, 53, 123, 13.
Bus Éireann also have a nationwide bus service. For match day, you are able to inquire about hiring a private coach service.
If you are traveling by car, it is a good idea to give yourself plenty of time for your journey as you may encounter heavy traffic in the city. You can plan your route here via the AA.
Parking may prove tricky and it normally will come at a price too, so make sure you have some spare change handy.
