Happy Valentine’s Day!  The day that people love or loathe is here.  Whether you’re spending Valentine’s Day with your other half, your best friend or you’re just chilling with your dog on the couch (perhaps an ideal scenario) at the end of the day, it’s just another Wednesday.  But why not use it as an excuse to make a Wednesday evening that bit more fun?  With Valentine’s Day being a weeknight, it’s a little harder to turn it into a date night.  After all, there’s still school runs and the rush to work the next morning!  These date night ideas are ideal for a Wednesday evening.

Pancake Tuesday Take Two

We’re taking it as a sign that Valentine’s Day is straight after Pancake Tuesday.  It’s the perfect excuse to treat yourself to as many pancakes as you like, two days in a row!  Plus, sometimes half the fun is in making the pancakes!  Check out these fab pancake recipes that will go down a treat.

Build a Fort

It may seem a little childish, but there’s no denying that we all secretly want to build a fort to watch our favourite movies and eat goodies.  Go all out with fairy lights, sweet treats and Netflix.  There’s nothing like a bit of childhood nostalgia after all!  So grab all the blankets and enjoy!

Cinema Night with a Difference

Rather than the usual cinema night, if you’re in Dublin, head along to the Light House Cinema.  As well as box office hits, they also show some firm favourites and original movies too.  Complete with a lounge area, café and a bar, it has every aspect of date night rolled into one.

Another Dublin based date idea, but it’s so worth the trip if you don’t have too far to go.  Token is all about the nostalgia.  From pinball machines to firm favourites like Pac Man, it’s a retro arcade where you can get high-end fast food made to order.

Take Date Night into the Kitchen

When’s the last time you cooked in company?  Cooking can be a mundane task at times, but it’s a whole lot more fun when there’s two in the act.  Recreate a delicious recipe from scratch (this one is ideal) and if all fails, call your favourite takeaway!
