There’s nothing like January to make you reassess your entire life, point out its (hopefully few!) faults and pledge to remedy them in the form of a good old-fashioned New Year’s resolution. Some people fail, and miserably at that, within the month – which gives resolutions a bad rap.

The key to following through on your resolutions is to be realistic! If you’re no fan of fitness, suddenly committing to a marathon, for example, is not a good idea or you’ll soon find yourself huffing and puffing on the side of the road in despair. Baby steps!

Detoxing your life isn’t something that can be achieved overnight either. It’s going to require you to make healthy improvements to your diet, fitness regime and mental state. It may seem daunting at first, but one will feed into the other and make it all a lot more doable. Here are a few things to help get you on your way.

Fuel up

Perhaps the most sought-after electronic product since the Tamagotchi is the Nutribullet. This bad boy can whip up delicious smoothies, juices, dips and sauces within seconds with minimal clean-up – and, because it’s January, they’re on sale! For lower-calorie juices, use this Sage by Heston Blumenthal Nutri Juicer. With Heston Blumenthal’s seal of approval, you know it’s got to be good! If you’re on a bit of a budget, you can always go for a more run of the mill juice blender, which will do the job without much fuss.

Work it out

Once you’ve fuelled up, it’s time to get going and do some excercise. You can’t go wrong with a classic Adidas T-shirt and zip hoodie combination. Work out hard, play hard

Relaxation and taking some “me time” is every bit as important a resolution as being active.
