If you’re an EastEnders fan, you will definitely be shocked by this one.
Ronnie and Roxy Mitchell have been very popular with viewers since their arrival on the soap but The Sun is now reporting that there’s a grim exit storyline coming up for the pair.
Samantha Womack and Rita Simons, who play the sisters, announced a few weeks ago that they are leaving, but how they will exit the show will shock a lot of people!
Ronnie and Roxy are set to be killed off in the New Year’s Eve episode, which unfortunately leaves no option for the pair to return to the show in the future.
A source reportedly told The Sun that the two stars are “devastated” about the news, and that their fellow actors are very annoyed.
“People are worried who’s going to be next. The script for Roxy and Ronnie’s death has been written, but none of the actors know what’s going to happen,” said a source.
The departures echo the recent exit of Margaret Midhurt and Paul Coker and the shake-up is believed to be part of new producer Sean O’Connor’s plan to cut down the current cast.
An EastEnders spokesperson reacted to the concerns but refused to confirm or deny the upcoming storyline.
“We know how much our audience hates to have any future storylines spoiled so we will not comment on speculative stories. At no point have we received any concerns from cast about any of our future storylines.”
