During award season we see a lot more of our favourite actresses who, for the rest of the year, remain quite private and out of the gossip pages. (With all of those Kardashians, there’s no room for anyone else!).
Emma Stone is one such actress we don’t see on a daily basis. But when we saw Emma’s recent red carpet evening dresses, we couldn’t help but think that this girl makes appearances in quality, not quantity. The same could be said for her films – we loved her in Birdman!
This ladylike cream dress the ‘Spider-man’ star wore is very like our very own Definitions Prom Lace Dress, with a similar sheer fabric pleated pattern.
This would be a great look for a wedding or special dinner. Wear with these Shoe Box Daisy High Block Heeled Ankle Strap Sandals to keep the look uniform like Emma did, before adding a pop of colour with her statement earrings. These Fiorelli Sterling Silver Marquise Cut-Out Geometric Earrings with Turquoise Inlay are timeless and would even make a great gift (even if it is for yourself!)
Lacy black and cream
One of Emma’s first big roles was playing the frumpy aspiring author Skeeter in 2011’s The Help. She’s come a long way since her days in unflattering dresses and what her character’s mother dubbed “awful man shoes”.
Emma’s black overlay dress is classic and feminine. And the good news is we’ve found a similar option – this So Fabulous Lace Jacquard Three-Quarter Sleeve Midi Bodycon Dress. Our version of the dress has sleeves on it, which many ladies feel more comfortable in and is more suitable for Irish weather.
Add a decorative black belt like Emma’s with this Metal Detail Waist Belt and accessorise with this Wristlet Clutch and Clarks Okena Posh Cut Out Beige Shoes. Play on the neutral tones in this outfit and add some Bourjois Colorband Eyeshadow in Brun Dadaiste to complete your look.
