There’s nothing better than spending some quality time with the family and finding the right hotel for your trip can make a huge difference.

Luckily, there are a host of family-friendly hotels around the country that cater really well to this market and are always happy to go the extra mile to make sure that both young and old are kept happy.

Here are just a few…

Druid’s Glen Hotel And Golf Resort, Wicklow

Nobody likes being cooped up in a car during a holiday break so the beauty of Druid’s Glen is that you have everything you need on-site. Those looking for some outdoor activities can hit up the golf course, while the indulgent spa has a host of treats on offer using the Payot skincare range (one of our favourites!).

The resort is in such a tranquil setting and there are tons of special additions for families from free bicycles to an indoor playroom, daily movie screenings and an outdoor playground.

There’s a reason it was voted Family Friendly Hotel of the Year 2014 by the Georgina Campbell Guide!

Fota Island Hotel, Cork

This beautiful hotel is a great choice as it runs shuttle buses to the nearby Wildlife Park, which is guaranteed to be a hit with the whole family. The swimming pool at the hotel has designated times for children every morning and evening, as well as special kids camps during key occasions throughout the year.

There’s also a fab on-site spa so that parents can enjoy a little pampering, in addition to lodges and self-catering options that are perfect for larger families.

From a free kids activity club to in-room refrigeration to keep those baby bottles chilled, these added details really take the stress of travelling with children. They get extra bonus points for the availability of kids movies, a babysitting service and those spacious rooms.
