Cork goalkeeper Anthony Nash is known for his agility, speed and sharp saving skills. On the pitch, he is a forced to be reckoned with, but off the pitch, he enjoys spending his downtime with a spot of golf!
We caught up with Anthony at Littlewoods Ireland‘s launch of the GAA All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship, to find out a bit more about the man behind the helmet.
What are you watching on Netflix at the moment?
Peaky Blinders! I am a bit of a slow comer to it. It’s excellent, I’m really enjoying it. I would have watched Breaking Bad as well, it’s a must see!
Favourite movie of all team?
The Departed, I loved that. It’s very good.
What’s in your match day flask? Tea or coffee?
Ultimate cheat meal?
A lot of them, unfortunately! I love fast food when I can have it. McDonald’s chicken nuggets. I wouldn’t have it often, maybe in the off season!
Favourite gym exercise?
My teammates will probably have a go at me, but bench press.
Least favourite exercise?
Inspirational Quote you live by?
My father told me always to just enjoy sport. If you don’t enjoy sport, you won’t get anything out of it. So, ‘just enjoy it!’
Tell us a weird fact about yourself?
I have a squishy eye, it’s a bit strange!
What would be your ideal day off?
Chilling out and playing golf, I absolutely love it!
Favourite music?
Everything and anything! I love music, I always have Spotify on either in the gym or the car. Rap caviar would be one of my favourite playlists on Spotify. I like listening to Vampire Weekend to chill out.
One thing you could change about yourself?
I’m afraid of heights, so I didn’t grow too tall. Vertically challenged, so height maybe, but I’m not too bothered about it!
What your match day sandwich?
I wouldn’t have a sandwich, I prefer scrambled eggs and beans!
