In this instalment of Five Minutes With…we caught up with Kilkenny winning captain Shelly Farrell and challenged her to our quickfire round of questions.

Shelly led the Cats to victory over Cork in the Littlewoods Ireland Camogie League Final last year. With a packed home crowd in Nowlan Park, Kilkenny and Cork battled in out against each other. A victory for Kilkenny, Shelly climbed the steps of the Ardán Breathnach to lift the cup and be crown winners of the Littlewoods Ireland League Final, the third time in a row for the Cats.

We recently caught up with Shelly to find out some more about the woman behind the helmet and what this winning captain likes to get up to in her spare time!

What are you watching on Netflix at the moment?

Favourite movie of all team?

Shawshank Redemption – so good, you would never get sick of watching it!

Tea or Coffee?

Tea, I am after having about five cups already. In the morning I have a cup with a bit of toast and then after my dinner with something to nibble on as well!

Ultimate cheat meal?

Hillbillies chicken! Just the skin even alone. It’s unreal, and the gravy!

Favourite Fashion Brand?

Probably River Island.

Favourite gym exercise?

I don’t mind core. It would probably be my best, I don’t enjoy it but I’m good at it.

Least favourite gym exercise?

Walk backs, it’s a zuu exercise, it’s torture!

Inspirational Quote you live by?

Failure is only the option to begin again more intelligently.

What would be your ideal day off?

Just relaxing really, sitting at home with the duvet and watching Netflix. When the snow was here I was doing that. We were snowed in completely, and we live up on the top of a hill, we couldn’t get anywhere!
