Between the school runs, work, social life, more work, attempts to stay healthy – to name but a few – we have a whole lot of things going on! Sometimes our ‘me time’ gets overlooked. Not that it’s always a bad thing, but certain things are prioritised in life and we forget about ourselves. It’s more important now than ever to make ‘me time’ a necessity every now and again. Here are four ways to make some ‘me time’ when your schedule is looking pretty full.
Make Yourself a Priority
Although it’s easier said than done, it’s so important to make yourself your priority. With everything that goes on these days, self-care is more important than ever. Ensure to make yourself a priority, you’ll thank yourself for it in the long run! Even if it’s only once or twice a week, schedule in a bit of ‘me time’.
Schedule Your ‘Me Time’
Rolling on from the first point, organise time just for you and schedule it into whatever you have going on during the week. Whether it’s taking 20 minutes on a Sunday morning to take up a hobby or go all out and book yourself in for a facial or a full body massage.
Make More Time
It’s easy to get caught up in the rat race. “I don’t have that time” is an excuse that we all use now and again! Change that by giving yourself an extra hour in the day. Set your alarm for one hour earlier, or even 20 minutes. Use this time just for you. That extra 20 minutes in the morning could mean enjoying a coffee in peace, without having to rush around. Sometimes that’s all we need to kick off the morning in a good way. Bliss!
Say No to Guilt
Should you be feeling guilty about saying “no” to a night out, when all you want to do is sit in your pyjamas, on front of the TV with a takeaway? Absolutely not! If you don’t want to do something, don’t do it. Although, you do still have to go to work the next dreaded Monday! Say no, enjoy your me time and you do you.
