It’s now March, and the GAA and Camogie League seasons are well underway. Players are keeping their fitness and nutrition on point at this time of year while training, and coming up against some of their toughest opponents.

Keeping the diet clean, packed full of protein, good fats and carbohydrates is key to players’ performance on the pitch. Fuelling their bodies for the Leagues matches, and in preparation for the Championship season is of high importance. However, we all have our vices….

We spoke to a number of hurlers and camogie players, and they let us know what their ultimate cheat meal is, when the time comes that they can allow themselves a little leeway in the food department.

Austin Gleeson

The talented Waterford man is a biscuit fan, and it’s all or nothing when it comes to cookies!

“My ultimate guilty food pleasure is cookies with a cup of tea, once the packet opens its hard to stop.”
