Yep, you read that right, today is officially International Yoga Day. If you’ve always wanted to take up yoga, but never actually got around to it (no judgement here, you’re busy, we get it!), then today is the perfect day to start. Or perhaps you’re a seasoned yoga-goer, and you’ve been dying to treat yourself to some new gear, then what better opportunity?
Here are some of our fave yoga pants, accessories, and equipment, no matter your yoga-level.
We won’t beat around the bush here, yoga is pretty sweaty business. That’s why you’ll need clothing that’s light, breathable, and will let you go from Child’s Pose to Downward Facing Dog, with ease (that’s yoga-talk, right?!) This mesh top from Nike is ideal. Its dri-fit technology will keep you cool throughout your class, while its slim-fit makes it perfect for layering up before and after your session.
And speaking of layering up, this Nike cropped sweater is ideal for wearing to and from your yoga class. While a jumper may be the last thing you’ll want after a heavy session of stretching, you’ll be glad of it when you start to rapidly cool down. They don’t do a ‘warm-down’ exercise for nothing, so pop this on as soon as you finish up to avoid getting a nasty cold.
Get set to train harder and for longer with these compression-fit leggings from Under Armour. Their high-waist makes them super flattering, while their sweat-wicking tech is light and breathable.
We like to think of this as our little yoga cheat-sheet. Maybe you’re not ready to go to a class yet, but there are plenty of yoga tutorials on YouTube, where you can stretch from the comfort of your own home. Or maybe you’re in a class, and you’ve no idea what the instructor is asking you to do; this handy mat should give you a good indication of where your legs, hands, and every other body-part should be!
A good sports bra is essential for a workout. It’s the support every gal needs. Its racer back allows for ample movement, while, similar to the Nike Mesh Training Top, it’s also got dri-fit technology, making it ideal for those tough sweat-inducing sessions.
While a lot of people prefer to do yoga in either socks or their bear feet, that’s not for everyone. If you want to workout in runners, then you’re going to want to opt for something lightweight, breathable, flexible and super stylish! Queue, the adidas NMD R1s. We adore the NMD collection. In fact, we love it so much, we’ll be wearing these bad boys to the gym, to work, to town; practically anywhere we can get away with wearing them!
