It’s a struggle every morning to make it out of bed on time but Monday morning is definitely the worst of all.
It feels like we’ve only just laid our head on the pillow when that irritating alarm goes off and tells us that it’s time to leave the cosy confines of our duvet.
The only way we manage to console ourselves is by hitting the snooze button and squeezing in a few extra minutes of toasty sleep but experts are now saying that this daily routine could be doing more harm than good.
According to ASAP Science, the snooze function on your alarm clock could be interfering with your body’s natural process for waking up.
The body is designed to wake itself naturally but using an artificial alarm interrupts the natural sleep process, leaving you groggy and slow to wake up.
By hitting the snooze button, you could drop into a deeper sleep and then go through the process all over again, messing with your system and resulting in that urgent need for caffeine to make you more alert.
So if you want to make the mornings a little easier, jump out of bed when that alarm first goes off.
