Despite prepping for her third Littlewoods Ireland Camogie League match of the season this weekend, Michelle took the time to tell us about her personal style, her wardrobe staple and her aversion to heels!
It’s an honour to wear your county jersey, but do you ever find it hard to express your own style when you spend so much time in training gear?
“I do find it hard yes, but you do get the chance to dress up when you go home. Most people of course are used to seeing me in my county gear but it’s only a small price to pay isn’t it?
“My trainer didn’t recognise me at the banquet after the All-Ireland that we won two years ago. He asked my friend who I was, because he was so used to seeing me in my kit!”
If you’re heading on a night out what do you like to wear?
“Black jeans a real good go-to for me. For a night out it depends what the occasion is, but a nice dress maybe. I wouldn’t be afraid to get the legs out! I just go with what I feel like wearing at the time.”
Do you follow trends or just go with clothes that you feel happy in?
“To a certain extent I do follow trends and whatever is in, but I also go with what I think looks good. I’d ask people though, if my sister said I didn’t look good in an outfit I wouldn’t wear it! The same goes for my mother.”
Is being comfort a factor for you with your clothes choices?
“Yes it is. I’m only 19-years-old and I can’t wear heels on a night out anymore! I just don’t enjoy the night when I’m wearing them because they’re so sore. Other than that I don’t mind.”
What’s the one item in your wardrobe that you can’t live without?
“Black jeans definitely, they’re just handy for every event.”
Are there any Irish sports stars that you take style inspiration from?
“Well Conor McGregor is pretty stylish but he is a man! I’d love to have the money and the confidence to wear what he wears!”
