Today was an exciting day in Littlewoods Ireland HQ as we launched our third year of sponsorship of the 2019 Littlewoods Ireland National Camogie Leagues! We were joined by the Camogie Association and a host of top Camogie players, including All-Ireland champion Amy O’Connor from Cork, Waterford’s Niamh Rockett, Dublin‘s Ali Twomey and Kilkenny‘s Katie Power!
Shining a light through live-streaming
This season Littlewoods Ireland will shine a light on Camogie and women’s sport by live streaming a minimum of six games over the course of the National Camogie Leagues. The aim is to continue to raise awareness of the sport, the skill on the pitch and the highly competitive clashes by ultimately reaching over 100,000 fans through the broadcasts!
The 2019 season gets underway this weekend as reigning champions Kilkenny have home advantage to Clare as they begin to defend their title and aim for four-in-a-row. Meanwhile current All-Ireland champions Cork will travel to Tipperary in the first clash to be live streamed by Littlewoods Ireland on their social channels. Fans can tune in live from 1.45pm on the 20th of January across YouTube and Facebook for pitchside reporting from Lauren Guilfoyle and commentary from Killian Whelan and local analysts.
Littlewoods Ireland Managing Director Geoff Scully said, “We are thrilled to be continuing our sponsorship of the Camogie Leagues for a third season. We want to make a meaningful impact as sponsors of the Camogie Leagues by creating a greater conversation around the game, showcasing it to more people and inspiring young girls to play sport by portraying the many female role models who currently play Camogie.”
Speaking about the upcoming Littlewoods Ireland Camogie Leagues President of the Camogie Association Kathleen Woods said: “I am very excited for the start of the Littlewoods Ireland Camogie Leagues this Sunday. The Leagues get the inter-county season underway with a bang each year and provide an opportunity for counties to gel and gather experience ahead of what will be a long season. This I’m sure will provide some great opportunities for all supporters to see their county’s stars in action over the coming months.
She added; “This is the third year of Littlewoods Ireland’s sponsorship of the Leagues and we are delighted to work with such an enthusiastic and innovative partner to continue to promote our game to new audiences.”
