Have you got your summer holiday booked yet? Whether you’re going abroad or choosing a staycation, you’re going to need summery wardrobe updates to see you on your way. This season we can’t get enough of the easy-to-wear hippy look.

Think comfortable maxi dresses, timeless denim jackets and pain-free sandals.

We’ve also found lots of great accessories to go with them. Layering them on over your maxi creates a 1970s eclectic look and means that you can transform your outfit from day to night without even having to go back to the hotel to change. Here are three of our favourite lightweight, chiffon printed maxi dresses.

The “anywhere, anytime” maxi dress

For a look that can seamlessly take you from day to night, throw on this South Crinkle Print Maxi Dress. It looks great worn under a basic but vintage-looking Levi’s Denim Trucker Jacket. Play around with accessories by adding these bright Head Over Heels Moment Strappy Sandals and experimenting with ways of wearing this French Connection Scarf. Try it tied at your neck or maybe just tied onto this Dune Crossbody Bag.

The maxi dress to go exploring in

This South Utility Maxi Dress has a slightly safari look about it which makes it all the more appropriate for holiday time exploring. For chillier days, add this South Longline Slub Cardigan. The watercolour effect knit is great for this casual bohemian vibe. Keep your feet comfortable in these Shoe Box Flat Sandals and add this Statement 3D Jewelled Necklace. To create beachy waves, use this Nicky Clarke Hair Therapy Tong in your hair.

The beach cover-up maxi dress

If you’re lucky enough to be hitting the beach this summer, you’re probably going to be in the market for a stylish cover-up to wear over your swimwear.

This Coleen Maxi Dress is a cover-up/ maxi dress hybrid. It ticks the box for the sheer trend, but also creates a flattering silhouette. Want to walk up the beach to the next town or grab an iced coffee in a poolside bar but swimsuit still damp? Cover-ups like this will keep you cool but not feeling exposed.

Throw it on over this Samantha Faiers Tie Back Bikini and pop on a Fedora and these Ray-Ban Aviator Sunglasses to protect yourself from the sun. Speaking of sun protection, look after your skin by slathering on some SPF. If there’s one thing that you should get obsessive about this summer, it’s protecting your skin from sun damage.
