Since the release of Bohemian Rhapsody, many of us have flocked to the nearest cinema, popcorn in hand, to check out the highly anticipated movie. Without giving any spoilers away, if you loved Bohemian Rhapsody, then we’ve pulled together a few Netflix titles that you’ll love too. From full blown musicals to low key documentaries, these options are a must-see this weekend – after Bohemian Rhapsody of course!
La La Land
Kicking things off with a feel-good musical. While it may not be as intense, ‘La La Land’ ticks still all the boxes. From comedy and drama to romance and of course, music. Starring Emma Stone as an aspiring actress and Ryan Gosling as a jazz pianist, it tells the love story of the two as they both attempt to pursue their dreams in Los Angeles. This iconic film has received praise from all corners and is the perfect pick for a relaxing weekend.
Gaga: Five Foot Two
In a documentary style film, ‘Gaga: Five Foot Two’ centres on singer and songwriter Lady Gaga as she creates and releases her fifth studio album. As well as working on her album ‘Joanne’, we follow Lady Gaga as she prepares for her Super Bowl halftime show and look on as she unfolds about personal and professional struggles. If you’re a Lady Gaga fanatic or a fan of the music industry in general, you’ll love this pick!
Whitney “Can I Be Me”
Another documentary, but we couldn’t possibly complete our list without including the film that follows the late Whitney Houston, ‘Whitney “Can I Be Me”‘. Using a mix of footage from Whitney Houston’s 1999 World Tour and testimonials from those closet to her, the film takes a deep dive into Houston’s life both on and off stage. An iconic documentary that you won’t regret watching this weekend!
