Who to look out for in the Littlewoods Ireland Camogie Leagues!

Keep an eye out for them!

The next round of the Littlewoods Ireland Camogie Leagues is getting underway this weekend! Already thoughout the League, we have seen some pretty impressive #StyleOfPlay moments from the camogie players.

Here are some players that you should look out for over the course of the rest of the Littlewoods Ireland Camogie Leagues!

Caoimhe Burke – Tipperary

Throughout the Littlewoods Ireland Camogie League, Tipperary’s goalkeeper Caoimhe Burke has been highly impressive. The Dromh and Inch club woman is rock solid under pressure. In both of Tipperary’s games against Cork and Galway, she kept the opposition at bay. She made fantastic saves to deny both the Rebels and the Tribeswomen goals.

Although Tipperary have played two games and lost both, Burke’s performance has made the scorelines a lot less defeating for the Tipp women. Definitely a player to watch!

Beth Carton – Waterford

Waterford made it to their first senior All-Ireland Final last year and Carton was instrumental in their journey to the knock-out stages. Overall, she scored an amazing 3-38.

The De La Salle club-woman also made history as she picked up Waterford’s first ever Senior Camogie All-Star. She was announced as the overall winner of the 2018 WLR/Granville Hotel GAA Award. What a talent!

Waterford are currently trailing behind Cork and Galway in the league standings, having played 2 games and won one and lost one. Tipperary are the next challenge for the Déise and it is a vital game for both teams, as places in the Semi-Finals of the Littlewoods Ireland Camogie Leagues are up for grabs!

Aoife Donohue – Galway

In recent years, Donohue has proved herself as one the best forwards in the country. Steller performances in the Littlewoods Ireland Camogie Leagues and Liberty Insurance Camogie Championship have resulted in Aoife earning herself two All-Stars wins.

A hard worker on the pitch with incredible pace, Donohue has already made a brilliant impression in this years Littlewoods Ireland Camogie Leagues. Galway trail behind All-Ireland champions Cork in the league tables currently, but after a strong win against Tipperary two weeks ago, they look to be on course for a place in the Semi-Final.

And with Donohue on Galway’s forward line, their hopes are high this year. A phenomenal all-rounder, she is definitely a player to look out for!

Chloe Sigerson – Cork

Having won the Intermediate Soaring Star Award 2016, Chole Sigerson has progressed to senior level and has soared ever since. Her All-winning performance last year earned her a nomination for player of the year 2018 and an All-Star award.

Cork are currently topping the top of the table in Group 2 of Division One in the Littlewoods Ireland Camogie Leagues, having played three games and won each of them. The next challenge for Cork will be Galway and you can guarantee that Sigerson will feature in this game. She has the eye and accuracy to shoot from distance and plays an integral role within the Cork Camogie camp.

Niamh Mulcahy – Limerick

So far, Limerick have had an impressive run in the Littlewoods Ireland Camogie League as they remain unbeaten and are topping Group 1, Division 1 league table alongside current League Champions Kilkenny.

In their last clash against, Limerick’s full forward Niamh Mulcahy shone as she hit five points over the bar. Throughout her career with Limerick, Mulcahy has been phenomenal. She plays with class and accuracy, rarely failing to miss her mark.

Look out for her on our live stream of the Littlewoods Ireland Camogie Leagues, with sharp shooting skills and pace, you will not miss her!

Katie Power – Kilkenny

Having joined the Kilkenny Camogie panel at only 16, Katie Power played in her first All-Ireland at only 17. She most notably hit the winning goal in last years All-Ireland Semi-Final to put the Cats in the All-Ireland decider.

Power is a player with strong determination and grit. She keeps her cool under serious pressure. Kilkenny are the current League champions are sitting top of the Group 2 League table alongside Limerick, who also have 6 points. Next up for them is a challenge against Offaly, a match they enter as hot favourites. Watch out for Power throughout the Littlewoods Ireland League, she is a player you can’t miss!
