Hurling and Camogie players let us in on their guilty pleasure meal choices!

These players tell us what cheat meals they treat themselves to!

Hurling and Camogie players have to keep their fitness and nutrition on point while training to come up against some of their toughest opponents.

Keeping the diet clean, packed full of protein, good fats and carbohydrates is key to players’ performance on the pitch. Fuelling their bodies for the Leagues matches, and in preparation for the Championship season is of high importance. However, we all have our vices…

We spoke to a number of hurlers and camogie players, and they let us know what their ultimate cheat meal is, when the time comes that they can allow themselves a little leeway in the food department.

Austin Gleeson

“My ultimate guilty food pleasure is cookies with a cup of tea, once the packet is open, it’s hard to stop.”

Shane Dowling

“Spare ribs and chips from the Shamrock Chinese! Oh no, actually, two battered sausages and fish and chips from Freda’s!”
