He’s one of our favourite chefs and there was very exciting news for Jamie Oliver and wife Jools this week as they confirmed that they are expecting another baby.
The couple celebrated their 15th wedding anniversary last year and already have four children – 14-year-old Poppy Honey, 12-year-old Daisy Boo, six-year-old Petal Blossom and five-year-old Buddy Bear.
Speaking about the happy news, Oliver admitted that the pregnancy had come as a surprise to the pair and their family.
“This will be the last one. It is just getting ridiculous otherwise. This was not expected. I can’t even believe I’m saying it. My own family were shocked too,” he told The Sun.
“I thought we’d have a couple of kids but that’s about it. Basically I do what I’m told but she’s an amazing family maker and I just go with it. I love kids. My family keep me honest, I have a weird job, a weird life, but my family keep me quite real.”
Jools looked radiant as she made her first public appearance following the announcement at the premiere of Eddie The Eagle in London this week and Oliver hinted that he hoped the new arrival would be a boy.
“You know what, I’m always grateful for what I get, it would be nice to balance it out a bit.”
The chef, who has been a longtime campaigner against childhood obesity, previously revealed that the pair had differing views on expanding their family as they already struggled to spend quality time together.
“It’s quite hard to have time for each other when you have four kids so I don’t want another excuse for me and Jools not to have time together. If she really, really wants another one then she might get her way, but I am very blessed with what I’ve got.”
We love these two!
