The Christmas celebrations are over, we’re all back to work and ready for the New Year. While we’ll all be doing our best with keeping our New Year’s resolutions, there’s one thing in particular that’s high on our mental to-do list. Making 2018 our most organised year yet. Getting organised can make even mundane tasks that bit easier. So if being more organised is one of your New Year resolutions (or if it’s not even on your radar), check out our tips for making 2018 your most organised year yet!
1. Make Decluttering a Regular Thing
Making decluttering a regular thing is the first step to getting organised. Both with the physical space around you, and your mind too. Keep your work space and your relaxing space clear of distractions by getting rid of unnecessary items. Even writing down your to-do lists or your worries can be the first step to decluttering your thoughts. It can be a hard one – but once you find what works for you best, stick to it and you’ll be on the road to organisation in no time.
2. Go to the App Store
Of course there’s an app for everything these days. But if they make your life that bit easier and more organised, then it’s worth it. The ‘Wunderlist’ app is a great one for on the go. Keep lists of all your wants, needs and to-do’s while on the go. Perfect for everything from quick food shops to making sure you’ve everything packed for a weekend away.
3. Go for Old Fashioned Pen and Paper
Nothing beats good old pen and paper to get yourself organised. Even taking fifteen minutes each Sunday to plan your week ahead makes the world of difference. Once you have something written down right on front of you, then you’re more than likely to achieve it. Of course, nice stationery always helps too! We love this 2018 family organiser as well as this cute, gold detail pineapple notebook.
4. Set Goals with Deadlines
Once you know what you want, stick a date on it. No matter how big or small your goals may be, this is the first step into turning your goal into an action plan. Once you have your goal in mind and your deadline written down, break it into smaller steps. This will make you feel more organised instantly which is one step closer to achieving your goals and deadlines.
