Valentine’s Day may be a while away yet, but this is the perfect time to lock down some fantastic plans to celebrate the day with your significant other.

We are loving the idea of a romantic city break, and these are some of our favourite destinations.

So get those bags packed, you’re jetting off to…

Paris

It’s the City of Lights and the City of Love, and it isn’t difficult to see why. Stroll along the Champs des Mars, as the Tour Eiffel sparkles above you or enjoy a café on the beautifully artistic streets of Montemarte. Paris is a city that you’ll never forget.

With flights and accommodation for the weekend for €208 per person, this is the perfect way to spend the most romantic day of the year.

Rome

Wander the streets that carried the feet of Roman emperors, walk underneath priceless art in the Sistine Chapel and feel like you fell into a history book as you take in the sight that is the Colosseum. Rome is one of our favourite destinations in the world.

Our top tip: You have to try authentic Italian gelato during your travels.

You can nab flights and weekend accommodation for €275 per person.

Warsaw

This is a little more off the beaten track, but we absolutely loved our last visit to the Polish city. The Old Town looks like it hasn’t changed in years, and each house is a different soft pastel colour. Explore the old Palace or shoot to the top of the tallest building in Poland in a high-speed lift. It might still be chilly come Valentine’s Day, so treat yourself to some hot tea as you explore the old streets.

Flights and accommodation for the weekend, in a five star hotel, for €177 per person? Sign us up!

Edinburgh

A little closer to home and definitely worth a visit. Edinburgh is a city steeped in culture and history and there is always something to see or do. Visit the impressive castle or stroll around the botanical gardens, explore the shops and cafés of the Old Town and take a trip to the National Museum of Scotland.

You’ll find flights and weekend accommodation for €202 per person.

Venice

No compilation of romantic city breaks would be complete without the watery city of Venice. Catch yourself a gondola and you float through the streets, taking in the sights. Indulge in some fine dining and explore a city that has inspired countless paintings, books and films.

Enjoy flights and weekend accommodation for €302 per person.

Enjoy your travels!
