Chances are, when you strolled into work this morning, all the chats were about the Royal Wedding over the weekend. Plenty of us either tuned in to the big occasion on TV or kept up to date with what was going online. I’m sure we can all agree on how amazing the Royal Wedding was, but anyone that’s a self-confessed beauty fanatic was tuned in on the beautiful bride’s makeup. Meghan Markle dawned a stunning, natural look for the big day, and it went down a treat.
Celebrity makeup artist and Dior brand Ambassador Daniel Martin created Meghan’s flawless look on the day. Everything about the look was elegant and simply stunning, so we’re taking a look at how to create a similar Royal Wedding beauty look at home. Glowing skin, bold brows, slightly smokey eyes and a pink lip – perfect!
Meghan’s look was all about simply stunning skin, which didn’t stray from her natural beauty. While we can’t all be blessed with stunning skin (boohoo!), it all comes down to your own skincare regime and what works best for you. Taking care of your own skin becomes first and foremost for any makeup look. Check out some of our favourite skincare products right here. Glowing, gorgeous skin is always in, and creates such a natural, beautiful makeup base. Kick off your glowing skin routine with an illuminating primer, such as Benefit POREfessional Pearl, then follow with a lightweight, buildable foundation. One of our favourites is the Illamasqua Skin Base. Our go-to product for a flawless finish!
Meghan’s base was completed with natural contour and a pop of blush. A fabulous look for anyone!
All About the Eyes
With such a beautiful base, the bold brows and smokey eyes really made Meghan’s look pop. In a natural, breathtaking kind of way, of course. Keep this look simple so it can be easily recreated at home. Stick to what you know and tweak it slightly. Go for your favourite neutral brown shades, and work with it by smudging and smokey out the eyeshadows. Use a clean, fluffy blending brush to create a smokey effect, we love the NYX Pro Brush for this kind of work!
For a super smokey effect, dab a darker shade of eyeshadow along your lashline with a smaller detailed brush (a smudger brush would be ideal). Keep in mind, the darker the colour, the smaller the brush!
Did you love Meghan’s look as much as we did? We’d love to hear your thoughts over on Twitter @littlewoodsirl!
