Several of Summer Bay’s most-loved characters have been in the frame for the murder of Charlotte King but the town is left shocked as Zac McGuire is formally charged with her death.
After Irene Roberts, Martin Ashford, Kyle Braxton and Hunter King are questioned, Alf mentions that there were surveillance cameras in operation outside the bait shop on the night Charlotte died.
Kat quickly obtains the footage and passes it on to the forensic team, with Zac later being called to the station for questioning.
Things soon go from bad to worse for the popular teacher, who is formally charged with the murder by Dylan.
While Zac protests his innocence, Leah is left wondering if her new husband could have committed such a crime.
“Leah is guilt-ridden to confess to Alf that she has real questions over Zac’s innocence, wondering whether he lied to her and whether he really did have something to hide,” reports Digital Spy.
Zac is later refused bail and Morag becomes immediately suspicious as she sees Dylan exchange a look with the judge.
Elsewhere, Irene is surprised when a woman arrives at her doorstep claiming to be her long-lost daughter Claire.
She is initially thrilled but when Claire begins to enquire about her father, Irene freezes and is unable to tell her the truth.
