Halloween is one of our favourite times of the year!
We love it all – the costumes, the decorations, the spooky films and dressing up the little ones!
Kids absolutely adore getting dressed up for Halloween so imagine if you could surprise them with a fun, spooky trip or activity as well as their trick-or-treating this year?
We have rounded up just some of the best family-friendly Halloween days out, just take your pick!
Wooly Ward’s Halloween Event, Dublin
This farm is a firm favourite with kids, but it comes into its own during Halloween. It is three hours packed with fun, including a Halloween show, House of Horrors, creepy creatures, pumpkin carving, chocolate apple decorating and more.
The event runs from 2pm to 5pm on Saturday 22nd, Sunday 23rd, Saturday 29th, Sunday 30th and Monday 31st October.
Tickets are €15 per child, €6 per adult, or a family pass (2 adults and 3 children) for €52, and €7 for under 2s who wish to take home a pumpkin and a chocolate apple. Booking in advance is recommended as this is a very popular event. You can book here.
Ladyrath Pumpkin Patch, Navan
One of the best things about Halloween is pumpkin carving!
Pick and buy your pumpkin to be carved. The staff will even do the hard work of carving out your pumpkin, leaving you and the kids to design the face. Adults can relax and enjoy tea, coffee and nibbles, while kids carve their pumpkins, get their face painted, interact with pet animals and more.
The event runs from Saturday 29th October to Monday 31st October from 10.30pm to 4.30pm every day.

Wild Scare Fun, Kildare
This is a great day out for anyone who wants to have a really active Halloween! It is a thrilling, haunted, inflatable indoor obstacle course that is perfect for young and old alike; a great day for all the family.
They have different events running throughout the day for all ages. From 3pm to 4pm, they have activities for children ages 5+, before moving on to another event from 4pm to 6pm for children aged 9+. They also have plenty to entertain children all the way up to 16+. Just make sure you are attending the right time for you and your family, as the events do get spookier as the day goes on.
The event is on Saturday 29th October from 3pm to 8pm. Tickets are €27.50 for an adult, €15.50 for a child and a family of four is €72.50.

The Haunted Maze, Wicklow
This haunted maze sounds like so much fun! They tailor the times so that the earlier times are less scary for little ones, so it is great for a family with small kids. Older kids can also enjoy the maze, just pick a later start time!
Run through the maze and figure out the puzzles, dead ends, tricky traps and riddles. Get to the safe haven in the middle, win a glowing magic wand and drink the magic potion for protection as you fight off more monsters on the way out. Kids will love this one.
The event runs from October 23rd to November 1st every day from 4pm to 9pm.

Virginia Pumpkin Festival, Cavan
The Virginia Pumpkin Festival is an annual event held in the town of Virginia in County Cavan and is seriously fun for all the family.
It is a Halloween weekend filled with live music and street entertainment, a parade and a fireworks display at Lough Ramor with live music and food.
There are lots of events happening throughout the weekend, like dress up, pumpkin carving, haunted walks and more.

Boo at Leahy’s Open Farm, Cork
Another great Halloween experience for kids and parents alike! You can take a trip on the haunted hay ride through the farm or find your way to the witch’s lair and help the little old witch make a magic spell by gathering the special ingredients.
Afterwards, kids can enjoy the Witches Wiggle Disco. Fancy dress for the all the family is encouraged!
The event runs from 3pm on the 27th October to 1st November.
