It’s one of our favourite films of all time and we’re fairly sure that most of the country spent last night curled up watching Love Actually on RTÉ One.
While we may be able to quote the entire film back at the television at this stage, there is one scene that we just can’t handle no matter how many times we watch it.
Yep, Emma Thompson’s Karen breaking down in her bedroom after discovering that the expensive necklace that she thought husband Harry had bought for her was actually for someone else.
As fans of the movie will know, Harry actually bought the jewellery for his secretary Mia – who is seen shamelessly flirting with him throughout the film.
We had always hoped that their relationship remained a flirtation but Love Actually‘s script editor (and wife of writer/director Richard Curtis) Emma Freud has shattered our hearts into a thousand pieces by confirming that Harry and Mia had a full-blown affair.
At the end of the movie, Karen and the couple’s children are seen collecting Harry from the airport and Emma has also confirmed that they don’t break up over his infidelity.
